“Grandpa, look!” Ten-year-old Finn held up a perfectly-crafted origami crane. John, once renowned for his delicate paper creations, could only offer a weak smile. His hands, ravaged by arthritis, were now clumsy and useless.

He sat in his favorite chair, watching Finn fold, his movements swift and elegant. The paper transformed effortlessly under Finn's fingers, creating beautiful birds and animals. John was supposed to teach him, but he couldn't even manage the simplest folds anymore. He felt a deep sense of inadequacy, a quiet grief he couldn’t express.
