The apology arrived with the morning newspaper, a small, unassuming note tucked between the advertisements. It was a lifetime ago, the incident. Yet, every day, the memory lingered. He felt his hands begin to shake as he read the words. *“I understand I caused you… pain.”* He swallowed hard.
