Gemotions

The constant tapping of the keyboard, a desperate attempt to find something, anything, of value. The rapping on the door, insistent and loud, interrupted his self-pity. Mrs. Lee, her face pinched with disapproval, stood on the other side. "The typing," she said, her voice sharp. "It’s been all day."

He turned away. He wanted to hide. He couldn't form words. He had nothing to offer. He’d been trying to write, to find a story, but the words wouldn't come.

He nodded, shame burning his cheeks. He could feel her judgement, a cold wave washing over him. He felt as though he was a disappointment to everyone.
