"I just… I can't," he whispered, staring at his reflection in the gym mirror. The image was a stranger, the face gaunt and pale. The effort to go to the gym, to improve, to matter - it all seemed pointless. He hadn't stepped inside the weight room in months.

The diagnosis had wrecked his life. The physical limitations, the medication, the constant fear of another episode. It had turned his ambitions to dust. He was a shell of the man he once was.

He’d been hiding at home, avoiding any social situation. But then, he heard a knock on his door. When he opened it, he saw a woman doubled over, clutching her chest. Her face was contorted in pain.

He saw it in her eyes - that desperation, that fear. A sense of obligation bloomed inside him. He finally knew that he was not alone.
