Gemotions

The red brick of her house seemed to close in on her, the familiar facade suddenly menacing. Her vision blurred, and the world tilted precariously. She blinked rapidly, trying to clear her head. The silence of the empty driveway was deafening. The back of her neck prickled with an unsettling sensation.

She paced the length of the porch, unable to stand still. Her hands wrung themselves, twisting together like a pair of frantic snakes. The wind whispered through the trees, carrying with it a sound she couldn't quite identify, a sound that made the hairs on her arms stand on end.
