The bustling marketplace was a cacophony of sounds and smells, but Sarah noticed none of it. Her breath hitched, shallow and rapid. "But I don't recall the colour," she stammered, looking at her friend, Emily, who had always been so sure of herself.

Emily smiled, her usual confident manner present. "The red dress, Sarah! It was brilliant red, remember?" The intensity in Emily's eyes was something Sarah had rarely experienced. The memory of a shared moment, a stolen glance in the market, was now a minefield of conflicting recollections.

Sarah's palms began to sweat. The crowd around her seemed to swell, the voices growing louder, the space around her shrinking. The vibrant colours of the market were suddenly muted, replaced by an unsettling gray. She wished she were somewhere else. Anywhere else.
