Gemotions

A shiver raced down her spine, despite the warmth of the room. The illustration, a haunting likeness of "The Pale One," stared back at her. Her grandniece, Lucy, was proudly showing off her work. The face of the creature, always the same.

Her fingers felt numb, as if her blood had turned to ice. She backed away slowly, her eyes fixed on the drawing. The walls of the room felt like they were closing in.

"He told me secrets," Lucy said, her voice soft. Her legs felt heavy, as though she was wading through water. She quickly turned, and left. She just wanted to be away from it.
