The old house felt oppressive to Michael, a feeling that intensified with the discovery of the secret room. He examined the hidden entrance behind a tapestry, his hands trembling slightly. He had a bad feeling about this, a creeping sensation that crawled over his skin, making the hairs on his arms stand on end.

He pushed the tapestry aside, revealing a small, dark opening. His pulse quickened. He paused, his gaze fixed on the abyss. He felt an intense desire to flee, to turn and run as far away as possible. But curiosity, or something else, kept him rooted to the spot.

He slowly entered the room. The air was cold and stale. He took a tentative step forward, and the floorboards groaned ominously beneath his feet. He felt a shiver of awareness.
