He scrolled through his social media feed. Suddenly, there it was, a video. Someone had uploaded a cover of his song. He braced himself, a cold hand gripping his chest. He clicked play. The performance was… bad. Uninspired. He felt a strange mixture of emotions – a bitter disappointment, a sense of violation, and a perverse relief that the performer had failed to capture the song's true essence. He wanted to close the browser, to delete the evidence, to pretend he hadn't seen it, but his fingers remained locked on the screen, his gaze fixed to the image.
