Gemotions

The overhead lights began to dim, throwing long shadows that danced across the walls. A chill ran down his spine. He hated the dark. He hated the thought of being trapped in the dark.

He wanted to scream. He wanted to pound on the doors until they gave way. He fought to control his rising panic, but the effort was exhausting. The walls were closing in, the air felt tight, and his chest ached.

"Just breathe," he murmured. He didn't know if he was talking to himself or his coworker.
