She slammed her phone down on the kitchen counter, the action fueled by a sudden surge of something heavy in her stomach. “Listed! They actually listed it,” she muttered, her voice barely a whisper.

A wave of dizziness washed over her. She gripped the edge of the counter, needing the support. The photos… they showed the living room, but something wasn’t right. Everything looked off, sterile.

She felt a compelling urge to scream, to lash out. Her fingers instinctively reached for her chest, where her heartbeat pounded erratically. A deep breath offered little comfort.

She couldn't believe it. This felt like a violation. Like someone had reached into her past and was tearing it apart. She felt utterly defenseless.

“I need to see it,” she declared to the empty room, her voice shaking now. She knew she shouldn’t go, but the thought of not knowing was worse.
