A small, velvet-covered box arrived via courier. Inside, a single, perfectly formed crimson rose lay nestled against a bed of black satin. A handwritten card accompanied it: *Thank you, for everything.* The sender was listed as "Your Biggest Fan," no name, no address.

Her fingers tightened around the phone. She’d recognized the meticulous penmanship. It was definitely David. She could almost picture his skinny frame, his relentless questioning. He’d made her life a living hell. She hadn’t slept well since he'd left.

A knot formed in her stomach. She stared at the rose, its vibrant color almost mocking. She felt a sudden urge to run, to flee the confines of her apartment and disappear. Where was he now? What did he want? Her hand hovered over the phone, debating whether to call the police.
