Gemotions

The news felt like a physical blow, a sudden punch to the solar plexus. I sat frozen in my chair, staring at the screen. My fingers felt numb, incapable of moving. The words swam before my eyes, the reality of it all refusing to fully register.

A wave of heat washed over me, making my face flush. The air in the cramped dorm room suddenly felt thin, hard to breathe. I wanted to scream, to lash out, but instead, I just sat there, paralyzed. I felt as if the ground were shifting beneath my feet.
