Gemotions

The rusted metal box lay half-buried in the overgrown garden, glinting dully in the weak sunlight. Sarah knelt, heart hammering against her ribs, a chill prickling her skin despite the warmth of the day. She didn't recognize the small, rectangular container; the handwriting scrawled on the lid – a spidery "To Future Me" – was unfamiliar. She tugged at the latch, hands trembling.

A wave of dizziness washed over her as she pried the lid open. Inside, a collection of forgotten trinkets and letters, all addressed to her, but in a past she couldn't access. Each object, each word, a stark reminder of a life she couldn't place. She scrambled backward, hitting the hard ground, suddenly wanting to be anywhere else.
