Gemotions

He stared at the tarnished silver locket, his breath catching in his throat. This wasn’t him. He never owned anything like it. The backyard looked different, too. Not *wrong*, exactly, just… altered. An uncomfortable tightness settled in his chest, a feeling of being watched.

His pulse quickened as he picked up a worn photograph. A younger version of himself, smiling widely, stood beside a woman he didn't know. The unfamiliar face, the alien joy in the photo, set his teeth on edge. He dropped the picture, the metallic clink echoing in the unsettling silence, and found himself wanting to flee.
