The congratulatory emails began flooding her inbox, but the excitement quickly soured. The article, the one she had poured her heart into, had someone else's name at the top.

She slammed the laptop shut. Her chest felt heavy, as if weighted down. She pushed back from her desk, the chair scraping against the hardwood floor.
