The news felt like a physical blow. The air suddenly felt thin and hard to breathe. Her vision blurred, and the words on the screen seemed to dance before her eyes. The thought of leaving the sales department was horrifying. Her fingers tightened around the mouse, knuckles white.

She stood abruptly, pushing away from her desk. Her legs felt weak. The familiar office sounds – the ringing phones, the chatter – seemed to amplify, creating an overwhelming cacophony. She needed to escape, to be alone, to process this… disruption.

She grabbed her coat, the action frantic, and bolted out the door.
