The renovation was finally complete. The paint was dry, the furniture was in place, and they were finally settling in. That's when she bumped into the wall in the library.

She felt a give. When she investigated, she discovered a seam, and after that, a handle. She pulled, and a section of the wall moved. She peered inside.

The hidden room was small. A single, dusty window, barely letting in any light, cast the space in an eerie, dim glow. A chill ran through her.

She didn’t like the vibe. She wanted to call her husband, to share this discovery with him, but the phone seemed miles away. She felt frozen, unable to move, trapped by the silence and the unknown.
