Gemotions

The air crackled with a strange tension, even though the sun shone brightly. The old cedar, which once sheltered him from the world, was gone. A void had appeared where it once stood, and a deep-seated panic bubbled up in his chest.

He gripped his hands into tight fists, his nails digging into his palms. He didn’t know who had done this, or why, but a wave of anger and frustration washed over him. He felt exposed, vulnerable, as if the world had somehow turned against him.

He began to pace, his steps quick and frantic. He wanted to scream, to lash out at the world, but all that escaped him was a choked sob. He reached for his phone, but he couldn't think of whom to call.
