Gemotions

The news came through a television documentary. The narrator was detailing family secrets, when suddenly a photo flashed on the screen. It was her mother, and a strange man she did not know. The narrator mentioned a child, her brother.

She stared at the television screen, her breath catching in her throat. The room seemed to shrink, the walls closing in on her.

She fumbled for the remote, her hand trembling as she switched off the television, the sudden silence deafening. The images, however, remained imprinted on her mind. The implications of what she had seen hit her like a physical blow.
