Gemotions

The excavation, done by the community as a school project, culminated in the uncovering of the capsule. Emily, one of the volunteers, found her heart racing as they opened it. She recognized the contents, but couldn't place them in her life. The people in the photos looked like strangers.

She felt a suffocating pressure build in her chest. She wanted to yell, to scream, to run. She stared at the crowd gathered around the open time capsule, a knot forming in her stomach. She stumbled back a step, losing her balance. Someone caught her arm, but she shook them off, the panic rising within.
