From the moment he was summoned to the Dean's office, Daniel's world shrunk. He found himself fixating on small, unimportant details: the way the rain pattered against the window, the precise angle of the Dean's spectacles, the subtle tremor in the Dean's hands as he shuffled the papers.

He felt a strange disconnect from his own body. His breathing became shallow, rapid, as though he was running, though he was perfectly still. His senses seemed heightened; every sound, every smell, every visual detail registered with painful clarity.
