The flickering candlelight cast elongated shadows on the walls of the old library. Amelia stood, her arms crossed tightly, watching Leo, who was lost in the pages of a dusty tome. "The hidden passage… you said it led to the crypt, right?"

Leo looked up, his face illuminated by the dancing flames. "Absolutely. We explored it together. We found the secret door, the carved symbols… Remember?" He grinned, his eyes gleaming. Amelia felt an itch in the back of her mouth, and her jaw clenched.

"No, I remember a tunnel leading to the rose garden. I remember climbing through it, finding a bench…” The description was vague, and she hated it. She felt a burning need to be precise.

Leo laughed. "The rose garden? That was the year before! We were kids then. This was last year. We found the skeleton, the ancient diary…" He started to describe the scene in vivid detail.

Amelia’s chest tightened. She felt like she was trapped in a cage. "No! That's not what I remember. The skeleton was in the old abandoned church… We were terrified." Her voice was barely a whisper. The room seemed to be closing in.
