Gemotions

The message, brief and brutal, echoed in Ben's mind: "Plans changed." He stood frozen, the invitation still clutched in his hand. The joy he’d felt earlier evaporated, replaced by a strange disquiet. He felt a shiver trace its way down his spine. His shoulders were drawn forward.

His apartment suddenly felt too small, too confining. He needed to escape, to breathe, to *move*. He couldn't quite contain the restless energy bubbling up inside him. He started to fidget, tapping his foot against the floor, then pacing the floorboards.

He grabbed his keys and jacket. The world outside beckoned, a vast expanse of possibilities, and he knew he had to go out and face it. His feet moved quickly, almost running, as he left the apartment.
