The email arrived, a digital dagger to the heart. "Party Update: Cancelled." Michael's jaw clenched. He stared at the screen, a sense of disbelief washing over him. The anticipation he’d built up, the excitement… gone. He wanted to scream.

He rose from his chair, a surge of energy coursing through him. He couldn’t sit still. His leg bounced. He began to pace the room, his mind racing. He needed an outlet for this… this… pent-up emotion.

He grabbed his car keys and quickly departed. The outside world felt different. His vision was sharper, his senses heightened. He pressed the gas pedal and sped off.
