The news notification blinked on Maya's phone screen. "Local Eatery Faces Closure." She froze, the half-eaten sandwich in her hand forgotten. Her breathing quickened, shallow and rapid, as she clicked the link. The article confirmed her worst fear. "Antonio's Trattoria" was closing.

Her focus narrowed. Her gaze landed on the calendar on her desk, the upcoming week suddenly looking different. Her mind raced with possible solutions, potential alternatives. The absence of the restaurant, its atmosphere, it's food. She thought of the regular Friday nights.

She stood up abruptly, pulling her coat on as if she needed to go, to do, to fix. She needed to make a reservation, a final one, she thought. She needed to experience its magic before it disappeared forever.
