Gemotions

The scent of dry rot filled his nostrils. He was acutely aware of every detail: the grit beneath his fingers, the faint sound of the wind outside. He felt a connection to the place he'd never experienced before.

He came across a stack of old paintings leaning against the wall. The canvases were dusty and faded, but he could make out the outlines of the images. He carefully removed one painting, its frame falling apart.

He noticed a small inscription on the back. It was a dedication, written in a language he didn't recognize. He felt an urge to understand, a need to know.
