The sun was setting, painting the sky in vibrant hues. Mark and Ashley, hand in hand, strolled along the beach. Everything felt perfect. He felt a sense of contentment he hadn't experienced in years.

He saw a familiar figure approaching them from the opposite direction, a woman with long, flowing brown hair and the same bright smile he’d fallen for. It was Sarah, the woman he had told he was having a work dinner with just last night. She was with another man.

Mark's blood ran cold. The ocean breeze suddenly felt frigid against his skin. He found himself digging his heels into the sand. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
