The sunlight sliced through the attic window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. Amelia, a tightness in her chest, examined the brittle photograph. It depicted her grandmother, the saintly matriarch, in a scandalous pose. Her fingers, which had grown suddenly restless, felt the rough texture of the paper.
