The faint scent of roses clung to the box in the attic. A feeling of intense awareness coursed through Daniel as he opened it. Inside, he found a collection of old photos that contradicted his family's narrative. His pulse was now erratic.

His uncle, the supposed bachelor, was pictured with a wife and children, all smiling in front of a house Daniel had never seen. The story had always been different. He felt the need to know the hidden truth.
