David, usually a casual dresser, found himself smoothing the wrinkles of his shirt, a nervous habit he hadn't displayed in years. The news had come during a late-night study session, and now, the pre-dawn light was making the words look even more imposing. He found he couldn’t sit still.

He walked into the kitchen, even though he knew he wasn’t hungry. He ran the water for the tea, then paused, the kettle forgotten. He checked the time again. He needed to be proactive. He started running, a sudden burst of energy and movement. He needed to plan a meeting, to secure guidance. His thesis, his future, was at stake.
