The printer sputtered, spitting out spreadsheets. Michael, usually a creature of habit, found himself pacing near the water cooler, his thoughts racing. He was usually methodical, but today, an unusual energy propelled him. He saw Emily across the office, meticulously placing file folders. He knew her name, but that was it. Something about the precision in her actions drew his eye.

He walked over to her. “Hey, Emily, random question. Did you happen to go to Camp Skylark?”

She paused, her hand hovering over a folder. "Camp Skylark... yes, I did. Wow." Her eyes widened slightly, her posture straightening.

"No way!" Michael exclaimed. "I was there too! The archery range. Did you ever…" He trailed off, suddenly remembering the awkward teenage years, the forced friendships.
