The coffee tasted particularly bitter today. Liam was usually impervious to the taste, but the caffeine seemed to be coursing through him like a live wire. He felt restless, constantly adjusting his tie, tapping his foot. He caught Chloe's eye as she was at her desk, her brow furrowed in concentration. Then it hit him. The lanyard around her neck, emblazoned with a faded logo. He knew that logo.

He strode over to her desk, not bothering to modulate his voice. "Chloe, is that a Camp Willow lanyard?"

She looked up, startled. "Yeah, why?" Her posture was defensive, almost confrontational.

"I went there!" he burst out. "2003! Remember the counselors who made everyone do pushups at 6AM?" A grin tugged at the corner of his mouth. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to tell her everything.
