Gemotions

James felt a physical lightness in his chest as he organized his desk. He was practically vibrating with some unknown energy. He caught a glimpse of Emily across the room, carefully organizing the supplies. Her meticulousness made him remember a time in his youth he did not often think of, and then he knew.

"Emily," he said suddenly, the words bursting out. "You ever spend summers at Camp Starburst?"

Emily's posture went rigid, but there was a flicker of something that resembled curiosity in her eyes. "Camp Starburst… yes. How did you know?" Her tone was guarded.

"I was there too," James exclaimed. "Remember the time the canoes tipped over?" He had an urge to laugh, a sudden burst of energy he could barely contain.
