Gemotions

The air in the library was thick with the scent of aged paper and leather. I felt a surge, a desire to know. The librarian pointed me towards the archived documents of the local mill. My hands trembled slightly as I pulled out a faded folder, and inside, I found it – my great-grandmother's handwritten letter of resignation. A coldness spread through me. Every word, every carefully placed phrase, was a piece of a puzzle I never knew I was trying to solve. I focused, my whole being concentrated on each sentence. I felt almost a compulsion to understand the secret this letter revealed.
