Gemotions

The photograph, slipped into her mailbox, was an immediate jolt. A woman. A woman who looked… familiar. A younger version of her father, beaming, and beside him, a girl she had never seen before. A sister.

She ripped the photo in half, then immediately regretted it. She pieced it back together, her hands shaking. She went to the cupboard and grabbed a bottle of wine, pouring a large glass and downing it in one go.

She started to pace, the image of the photograph seared into her mind. She needed to know. The need to find her, to understand, was overwhelming, she found her keys and stepped outside, determined to track down the woman in the photo and ask her all the questions.
