Gemotions

The sun beat down on David’s back as he hauled the box from the muddy ground. He breathed deeply, the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves filling his lungs. He hadn’t felt so…alive… in years. The discovery had happened while he was fixing a broken fence in the yard.

The time capsule was small, but the weight of it in his hands felt significant. Inside, nestled amongst layers of bubble wrap, was a collection of his favorite comic books and a sealed letter. His hands trembled slightly as he began to read, his eyes moving quickly across the page.
