Gemotions

The cold tile of the bathroom floor offered no comfort as she sat, the notepad clutched in her hands. The room was dim, the only light filtering in from the hallway. Her eyes darted back and forth across the page, each item a small betrayal. "Write a novel." The words seemed to jump out at her.

She had always dreamt of writing a book; he had always encouraged her. But he never mentioned it. A flush crept up her neck, a strange mixture of anger and… something else she couldn’t quite name.
