The weight of the notice made her back ache. Rachel felt a strange prickling sensation on the back of her neck. She checked the locks on the door, then again. She walked around the apartment, hand tracing the familiar lines of furniture.

She knew she couldn't just sit here. She had to take action. She grabbed her purse and keys, and walked out the door. She decided she would go to the park, she would sit and collect her thoughts.

On the street, she observed the world around her, every detail of the environment. She kept her eyes open for any signs, any clues, anything that might help her understand her future.
