Gemotions

John sat frozen, the paper limp in his hand. He felt a sharp pressure in his chest. His breathing became shallow and rapid. He ran a hand through his hair, then stood up abruptly, knocking over his chair.

He couldn't sit still. He had to move, to do something. He paced the length of his apartment, back and forth. The floorboards creaked under his feet, a sound that grated on his nerves.

He started opening drawers, checking the contents, making sure everything was in its place. He needed to have everything under control, to feel secure, to have some feeling of order.
