Gemotions

Eliza’s vision blurred. The drawing, a swirling vortex of greens and blues, depicted a being she’d conjured as a child, a guardian of the ocean, called Whisper. It was the only way she could describe how she was feeling. Her entire body felt shaky. Her nephew, Toby, chattered excitedly, "Whisper protects me from the sharks in the bathtub!"

Eliza blinked, trying to make sense of it all. It felt like time had folded in on itself. A ghost of a smile touched her lips as she gently took the drawing.
