Daniel was not prepared. He had gone into his parents' storage unit expecting to find some old clothes and some furniture. Instead, he had found his entire academic history. "Daniel's Deeds of Doing" the box proclaimed.

He sat cross-legged on the dusty floor, sorting through his relics of the past. A faded photograph of him in a school play, dressed as a tree. A collection of hand-drawn maps of fictional lands. His breath caught in his throat.

A wide smile spread across his face as he picked up a handwritten story about a brave knight. He remembered the feeling of accomplishment he felt when he had written it. All those years, his mother had been watching, recording. He felt a deep sense of connection, something he hadn’t expected.
