The world seemed to tilt on its axis. Her jaw hung slack, her fingers hovering over the mouse. The blog, with its bright, cheerful header and smiling profile picture, felt like a cruel joke. Her teenage journal, a repository of secret dreams and agonizing heartbreak, was now displayed for the world to peruse.

She felt a buzzing sensation in her ears, a high-pitched whine that intensified with each passing second. It felt as if she was outside of her own body, watching herself from a distance. She was… floating.

Her pulse quickened, her breath coming in shallow gasps. She had never experienced anything quite like this.
