“I… I don’t understand,” I stammered, my voice barely audible. I clutched the faded menu of "The Golden Spoon," my heart pounding against my ribs like a trapped bird. The words, "Last Day of Service" were splashed across the front.

My entire life, this place has been a haven. Where I would go with my family. Now, it was… ending. I felt an unsettling sensation, a detachment from reality. I didn't know what to do.

I ran my fingers over the familiar, worn cover. It was ending. The familiar scent of cinnamon and spice, the warm, welcoming atmosphere — all of it, just dissolving. I felt as if I were falling, spiraling down into a bottomless pit.
