"Well, this is...something," declared Ben, his voice a low, hushed tone. He turned slowly, taking in the high ceilings, the intricate cornices, the way the light streamed in through the stained-glass window in the foyer.

His sister, Emily, had already moved towards the grand piano in the corner of the room, her fingers hovering over the keys. She looked as though she was about to play.

He had expected something a little different, the sort of home that would be the backdrop of his new life. But now he couldn't take his eyes off the place. He felt as if he had entered another world.
