“Unbelievable,” Liam muttered, his voice raspy. He stared at the banner plastered across the building, a larger-than-life recreation of his graffiti. He’d risked his freedom for his art, painting under the cloak of night, trying to be seen, hoping to be understood. Now, it was everywhere.

He felt the world tilt on its axis. He laughed, a short, sharp bark that echoed in the empty alley. He ran a hand through his hair, dislodging his cap. His skin prickled, an electric current coursing through him. He was simultaneously lightheaded and grounded.

He was both thrilled and frightened. He pushed off the wall and started to walk, the banner following him. He felt like his heart might burst.
