The aroma of freshly brewed coffee did nothing to calm Javier. He stared at the website, his eyes darting from image to image. His comic book artwork, his painstakingly detailed panels, his characters – all were on display, presented as the work of someone else.

He felt a strange pressure building behind his eyes, a sensation like the world was spinning. He paced the small apartment, his agitation growing with each passing moment. He felt both numb and hyper-aware, the world around him rendered in sharp focus.

He abruptly stopped, running a hand through his hair. His hands were shaking. He felt a sudden, profound desire to sit down and scream. It wasn't fair.
