Gemotions

The aroma of freshly mown grass was interrupted by a knock on the back gate. It was Mr. Garcia, clutching a watering can. He made a query about the possibility of cultivating some produce in her yard. It left Clara feeling suddenly lighter than she had in years.

She had often thought the yard was too big and the thought of gardening was overwhelming. But now, it seemed different. The notion filled her with a sense of wonder. She felt the urge to jump up and down.

"Oh, yes, of course!" she replied, with a giddy smile. "Anywhere you like." She waved her hands. This was a completely new beginning.
