He spotted her leaning against the wall, clearly trying to avoid eye contact. Good. He'd been hoping for a dramatic entrance, but this was even better. He straightened his tie, the fabric feeling suddenly stiff against his neck.

He took a slow stroll towards her, feigning an interest in the floral arrangements. The absurdity of the situation—the forced smiles, the superficial pleasantries—was almost too much to bear.
