The musty scent of aged paper filled Amelia’s nostrils as she cracked open the spine of her latest thrift store acquisition, "The Secret Garden." Sunlight streamed through the dusty window, illuminating the words on the page. She’d been hunting for a rare edition of this childhood favourite.

She thumbed through the delicate pages, a small smile playing on her lips. A small, folded piece of paper fluttered out. "Well, isn’t this interesting," she murmured, a chuckle bubbling in her throat. Unfurling it, she discovered a childish scrawl, a love note addressed to a 'Dearest Thomas.'

The ink was faded, but the sentiment, oh, the sentiment. "My heart sings when I see you, even if you do have the silliest laugh." Amelia tilted her head back, a silent, delighted laugh escaping her lips. What a wonderfully strange find. She wondered about Thomas, and who this secret admirer had been.
